Goddess Chakra Art - Essence of Color by Jo

In this series of paintings "The Essence of Color", Jo expresses the power, energy and message of color as it relates to our emotions, how they connect to different parts of our bodies through the chakras and how they may gift us with their vibration and messages.

Color is extremely powerful, emotive and symbolic. So each painting has a unique color energy, voice and vibration thereby conveying its own power and message.

It is said that there are around 88,000 chakras in the human body, but in this series Jo concentrates on the seven primary chakras located along a central vertical axis at the front of the body, stemming from the parallel point in the spine. These chakras are like spirals of energy, spinning continually. Each of the paintings honors each color, its own meaning and its corresponding chakra.

Prints depict the incorporation of a combination of paper, fabric, glitter, stones, beads, flowers and feathers on the originals further illustrating and uncovering the subtle hues and tones within each chakra color.
